Utility Rates and Billing

The City of Union has the second lowest combined water and sewer rates out of 70 jurisdictions. More than $100 less than the average combined rate.

This study is done by the City of Piqua every year and they have generously shared their results.

City Utility Billing Rates and Procedures
Residents are billed for City services the first day of every month. These services include: water, sewer, stormwater and, in this same bill, refuse collection (trash and recycling pickup). Customers have unitl the 15th of each month to pay the bill before a penalty is applied. Payment is accepted by mail, inside City Hall, at the City’s drop box located next to the communications tower behind the City Building and now, online (scroll below for details).
Flat-rate billing (8 times/year):
Water $22.00
Sewer $40.00
Refuse $20.89
Stormwater $4.00
Usage-rate billing (usage rate, billed 4 times/year):
Water $1.75 per 1,000 gallons of usage.
Sewer $2.20 per 1,000 gallons of usage.
(Refuse and storm rates are the same as above)
View and Even Pay Utility Bills Online
Residents can view their City utility accounts online—via the Internet—24 hours a day, seven days a week. View current balance, last payment date, payment amount and water consumption history. For a small convenience fee, residents can also pay utility bills using credit or debit card. Residents can also have their utility bill automatically debited from their checking account each month by downloading, completing and providing this form to the City of Union at 118 N. Main Street, Union, Ohio 45322: Auto Pay Utility Bills
NEW OPTION FOR RECEIVING YOUR MONTHLY UTILITY BILL!
Union now has the capability of emailing residents/property owners their utility bill. The bill would be emailed directly to your in-box and will include all the information that has always appeared on your utility bill.
