Assistant Chief Marvin

Assistant Fire Chief Zach Marvin has served in the fire service since 2009, working for various departments throughout Montgomery County. In June 2016, he was promoted to Captain and also assumed the role of the City's Information Technology Administrator. In March 2020, he was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief.

In his current role, Asst. Chief Marvin oversees the day-to-day operations and administration of the Union Fire Department, working in conjunction with the Clayton, Englewood, Union Fire Collaborative. He also represents the department on multiple committees across Montgomery and Miami counties.

Asst. Chief Marvin holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership from Wright State University. He is a Level II Firefighter, Paramedic, Fire Instructor, EMS Instructor, and Fire Safety Inspector. Additionally, he holds numerous technical rescue certifications, including trench rescue, confined space, structural collapse, rope rescue, static and swiftwater rescue, and hazardous materials response. He is also an active member of the Ohio Region 3 Urban Search and Rescue team.

A lifelong member of the Northmont community, Asst. Chief Marvin graduated from Northmont High School and continues to reside in the area with his wife and children.
